This building kit contains many hours of fun in just one box as you will soon see. It might just have you wishing you had received it as a gift yourself, but at least you will enjoy watching (and helping!) your child’s enjoyment as she begins to discover all it holds.
This LEGO building set is not the typical LEGO set of your own childhood – it’s so much more. The kit has everything needed to build a complete house and fully decorate it with many furnishing and accessories, including the mini-dolls that get to live in the house once completed.
LEGO Friends Olivia’s House includes a rooftop patio and an outdoor garden for Olivia and her parents, Anna & Peter, to enjoy the great outdoors together in realistic scenarios. There are 695 LEGO pieces to the set, and it is designed to be enjoyed by children between the ages of 6 and 12. But don’t be surprised if you enjoy playing with it as much as your child does.

What We Like About Olivia’s House
This building kit is definitely kid & parent friendly. The designers have set it up in such a way that it can be enjoyed by younger children who are technologically advanced enough to handle puzzle type games. At the same time, it is not too simple for older children (and like-minded adults) to enjoy playing with for hours as well.
The way it comes organized in the box is one of the best features – especially for any parent who has tried to help a child find the next piece when all the LEGO pieces are jumbled together. LEGO has separated this kit by putting all the pieces for one room in one bag so all your child has to do is grab the first bag and get to building. They will have built the first room before they know it and will be ready to move on to the next.
Although controversial, we also like that LEGO Friends Olivia’s House is meant to appeal to girls a little more than boys. Those bothered by gender distinction insist that LEGO should make their kits gender-neutral but there is no reason not to gear some products to be more appealing by the usual things that grab the attention of most girls like prettier colors, flowers, etc.
It is not overwhelmingly centered on girls – LEGO has done a great job of allowing features that make it enjoyable to boys as well. The bolder colors may be slightly more “girly” than the primary colors of traditional LEGOs, but why is that a bad thing?
We appreciate anything that will engage the imaginative minds of girls in ways that challenge them to enjoy doing some of those things that have been traditionally labeled as “boy’s activities” for decades such as building and construction.
LEGO has accomplished a difficult fete with Olivia’s House in that while geared more for girls, it is designed in a way that boys can enjoy as well.
What Customers Say About LEGO Friends Olivia’s House 3315
Overall, the response from other people who have purchased Olivia’s House for their children is overwhelmingly positive. There are minor irritations mentioned here and there such as the gender factor mentioned above, and the fact that there isn’t any brother or other male mini-dolls besides the dad figure. But most find such small details inconsequential in deciding whether to purchase or not.
Some of the younger children enjoying this LEGO set find it a bit frustrating when the mini-dolls won’t stay put because they do not snap in like most LEGO figurines do.
Some consumers have also questioned the price, but once the kit is opened, they usually change their minds and decide as we did – the price for Olivia’s House is well earned.
The Bottom Line
Along with many other consumers, we found LEGO Friends Olivia’s House 3315 to be an excellent purchase with not even the slightest sense of “buyer’s remorse” whatsoever.
We appreciate its entertainment value that is also high in educational value that can teach children different math & building skills without them even realizing it. It is well worth the cost for the hours of imaginative fun it provides, and we definitely recommend it for purchase!
A note to remember: because Olivia’s House has proven to be such a popular toy, the sooner you purchase the better once you decide – especially if you want to make sure you will have one wrapped up and under the Christmas tree for your child this year.
